Anti Oxidant Radiance Therapy
Glutathione is the body’s master anti-oxidant and eradicates free radicals. In fact, it is involved in preventing everything from cancer to heart disease and even wrinkles. The good news is that the human body produces glutathione naturally. However, a poor diet, increased pollution levels, stress, smoking, trauma, aging, infections and radiation all deplete your body’s reserves of glutathione. Apart from all it’s myriad health benefits, it was also discovered that glutathione is a very safe and very effective way to brighten and even out skin tone.
What is the Anti Oxidant Radiance treatment?
The main active ingredient in this treatment is Glutathione which is used in combination with Vitamin C and is administered through an IV . This is because it is far more effective intravenously rather than administered orally. This powerful combination of Glutathione and Vitamin C fights free radical damage that can damage collagen leading to dryness, fine lines and wrinkles. They evenly spread through the body, when administered via IV, and eat up any oxidative cell damage that leads to dull, uneven skin. All treatments at Dr Jamuna Pai’s SkinLab are carried out by our trained doctors and your treatment program will be carefully monitored, to oversee progress and also to ensure your safety and well being.
How does Glutathione work in improving my skin tone?
The colour in our skin occurs from the production of melanin. Glutathione inhibits the production of melanin, resulting in brighter looking skin. Additionally, Glutathione speeds up cell turnover, replacing damaged cells with new cells giving your skin a bright, even, glowing tone.
How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions each person needs vastly differs. The exact dosage of Glutathione administered will vary from patient to patient and will be individually tailored to your needs after a thorough discussion of your skin, your lifestyle and the results you’re hoping to achieve.
Are there any side effects to the treatment?
Glutathione is molecule that is naturally found in the body and you can increase your levels by consuming certain foods such as garlic, onions, broccoli and other cruciferous vegetables. So the side effects of replenishing your glutathione levels with intravenous therapy are highly unlikely. There may be bruising where the needle has been inserted but this will fade and is usually minimal. Very rarely, an adverse allergic reaction has been recorded, which is why it is imperative that you undergo any intravenous therapy under the supervision of a medical professional. Our doctors carefully monitor your treatment regime for a smooth and comfortable experience.
What results can I expect from the treatment?
Results are very patient dependent. So it isn’t possible for us to guarantee a specific outcome. However, during your consultation we will assess your suitability and be able to offer an approximation of what results you could expect and the possible duration of your skin brightening program.
Will my results be permanent?
Results are not permanent. So once you have attained the skin you’re hoping to achieve you will be a prescribed a bespoke maintenance program to follow. In terms of maintaining your results, it can help to avoid factors that increase antioxidant levels in the skin. This means avoiding smoking, poor diet and misuse of alcohol, stress, bad sleep patterns and environmental toxins. Obviously avoiding excessive sun exposure is also a must.
All treatments at SkinLab are conducted by Medical Doctors under strict guidelines and protocols to ensure your safety at all times.
